Throughout the 2019 college football season, the Tournament of Roses and the Rose Bowl Game Football Committee will select players from each partner conference as the Big Ten and Pac-12 Player of the Week.

For their outstanding performances in week 13, Ohio State defensive end Chase Young and USC quarterback Kedon Slovis were selected by the 15-person committee.

Chase Young, Ohio State
Jr., DE, Hyattsville, Md.

  • Recorded 3.0 sacks to help the Buckeyes defeat Penn State, 28-17, and win the Big Ten East
  • Broke the school-record for sacks in a season with 16.5
  • Ranks seconds all-time at Ohio State with 30.5 career sacks
  • This is Young’s second career Rose Bowl Game Big Ten Player of the Week honor (Week 9, 2019)

Pac-12 Player of the Week
Kedon Slovis, USC
Fr., QB, Scottsdale, Ariz.

  • Threw for a school-record 515 yards in the 52-35 win over rival UCLA
  • Tallied his third straight game with four touchdown passes and his fourth game this season with four TDs
  • Tied the school record with 37 completions on 47 attempts for a 78.7 completion percentage
  • This is Slovis’ third career Rose Bowl Game Pac-12 Player of the Week honor (Week 2 & 11, 2019)
