PARADE ROUTE

Every year, thousands of spectators line the Rose Parade route to enjoy two hours of floral floats, marching bands, and equestrian units. The parade’s 5.5-mile journey kicks off at the corner of Green Street and Orange Grove Blvd. in Pasadena. It moves north along Orange Grove Blvd. at a pace of about 2.5 miles per hour, then turns east onto Colorado Blvd., where the majority of the parade’s excitement unfolds. Towards the end of the route, the parade turns north onto Sierra Madre Blvd. and wraps up at Villa St.

ROUTE CLOSURES AND SAFETY MEASURES:

To ensure public safety, the Pasadena Police Department, with the support of the Tournament of Roses Association and city officials, will begin closing the Rose Parade route to vehicles starting at 10:00 p.m. on December 31 through 2:00 p.m. on January 1. This closure affects Colorado Blvd. from Orange Grove Blvd. to Sierra Madre Blvd., and Sierra Madre Blvd. northbound to Paloma St..

Residents and merchants hosting viewing parties or receiving deliveries during this time should notify their guests or vendors to arrive before 10:00 p.m. After this, access will be restricted, and guests and vendors may need to park in nearby areas with unrestricted parking.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ROSE PARADE TICKET HOLDERS

If your seats are located along Orange Grove Blvd. between Colorado Blvd. and Green St., please be aware that foot traffic in this area will be blocked off due to parade activities. To enter the Tournament of Roses® security zone, you’ll need to have your ticket in hand. Be sure to arrive by 6:30 a.m. on Parade Day to get settled in before the parade starts.

You’ll need to show your ticket or valid credential to ushers, public safety personnel, or any authorized Tournament of Roses representatives. All patrons are subject to search. For safety reasons, items that block views, interfere with others, or could pose a safety risk are not allowed.

The City of Pasadena and volunteers assist the Tournament of Roses with coordinating three street-level viewing areas along the parade route reserved for people with disabilities and their guests. Each person with a disability is allowed up to four guests.

At one of the three viewing areas there is a section with audio description for visually impaired visitors and another section with sign language interpreters. Tickets to all viewing areas are free. No seats are provided, so viewers need to bring their own chairs, cushions, stools, etc.

Tickets for limited wheelchair-accessible seating at grandstand locations are sold through Sharp Seating Company.

SPECIAL VIEWING AT FLOATFEST: A ROSE PARADE SHOWCASE

Paid parking is also offered on a first-come, first-served basis at various lots and parking structures near the parade route.

Overnight parking on Pasadena streets begins at noon the day before the parade, for that evening only. All “No Parking” areas and red curb zones remain off-limits, and vehicles in violation will be subject to impound and a fine.

There is no parking allowed on the parade route itself. Illegally parked vehicles will be impounded.

RV Parking

In addition to RV Parking available from Sharp Seating Company, overnight RV parking is available in Brookside Park at the RoseBowl Stadium prior to January 1. RV’s must be completely self-contained; there are no hook-ups. Space is limited and made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not accepted. Metro

Metro will operate 24-hour service on Metro Rail, also on the Silver and Orange Lines on the night of December 31 through the morning of Parade Day. In addition, Metro will offer enhanced service on the Metro Gold Line to accommodate large numbers of anticipated riders on Parade Day. Plan your trip below.

Metro will also provide regular bus service to areas near the Rose Parade, Rose Bowl Game and Post Parade areas. Buses will originate from locations throughout the county.

WHEN IS THE EARLIEST I CAN ARRIVE FOR CAMPING

Curbside camping along the parade route is permitted starting at noon on the day before the parade. At 11:00 p.m. the night before, you can move up to the “blue honor line”, but not past it.

WHEN SHOULD I BE IN MY GRANDSTAND SEATS

If your seats are located on Orange Grove Blvd. between Colorado Blvd. and Green St., within the security zone, you’ll need your ticket for access. We recommend arriving at your seat by 6:30 a.m. on parade day to ensure a smooth experience.

For those seated west of Fair Oaks Avenue, it’s best to be in your spot by 7:00 a.m. if you’re located near the start of the parade. For all other seats in this area, aim to be seated by 8:00 a.m. No matter where you’re sitting, plan to arrive at least two hours before the parade begins.

The parade kicks off promptly at 8:00 am!
