Throughout the 2019 college football season, the Tournament of Roses and the Rose Bowl Game Football Committee will select players from each partner conference as the Big Ten and Pac-12 Player of the Week.

For their outstanding performances in week nine, Ohio State defensive end Chase Young and UCLA running back Joshua Kelley were selected by the 15-person committee.

Chase Young, Ohio State
Jr., DE, Hyattsville, Md.

  • Tied the Buckeye record with four sacks in a 38-7 win over Wisconsin
  • Tallied six total tackles, including five tackles for loss
  • Forced a pair of fumbles that both led to second half touchdowns
  • This is Young’s first career Rose Bowl Game Big Ten Player of the Week honor and second for Ohio State in 2019

Pac-12 Player of the Week
Joshua Kelley, UCLA
R-Sr., RB, Lancaster, Calif.

  • Ran for 164 yards and a career-high four touchdowns in a victory over Arizona State, 42-32
  • Became the first Bruin since 2013 to score four touchdowns on the ground
  • Tallied more than 100 yards in three of the last four games and ranks second in the conference in rushing yards
  • This is Kelly’s third career Rose Bowl Game Pac-12 Player of the Week honor (Week 7 & Week 12, 2018) and second for UCLA in 2019
