Throughout the 2017 college football season, the Tournament of Roses and the Rose Bowl Game Football Committee will select players from each partner conference as the Big Ten and Pac-12 Player of the Week.

For their outstanding performances in week 13, Purdue running back Markell Jones and UCLA wide receiver Jordan Lasley were selected by the 17-person committee.



Big Ten Player of the Week

Markell Jones, Purdue
Jr., RB, Columbus, Ind.
  • Ran for a career-high 217 yards on 31 carries in a 31-24 win over Indiana
  • Tallied 159 yards on 22 carries in the second half to pave the way for the Boilermakers win
  • Purdue’s victory reclaimed the Old Oaken Bucket and made the Boilermakers bowl-eligible for the first time since 2012
  • This isJones’ first Player of the Week honor and the first for Purdue this season

Pac-12 Player of the Week

Jordan Lasley, UCLA
Jr., WR, Compton, Calif.
  • Caught a career-high 12 passes for 227 yards as the Bruins defeated California, 30-27
  • Added a 17-yard touchdown catch midway through the second quarter to put the Bruins ahead, 17-6
  • Became the first-ever Bruin to record back-to-back 200-yard receiving contests and three double-digit reception games in a season
  • This is Lasley’s first Player of the Week honor and the third for UCLA this season(Rosen, Week 1 & 2)
