PASADENA, Calif. (March 4, 2023) – Happy National Marching Band Day! The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association is thrilled to announce the 20 exceptional bands that will showcase their talents in the upcoming 135th Rose Parade presented by Honda, on January 1, 2024. With band visits by Tournament of Roses President Alex Aghajanian already underway, bands have begun their fundraising efforts to prepare for this monumental event, centered around the theme, “Celebrating a World of Music.”

Aghajanian delivered the exciting news to each band in a personal and intimate manner, eliciting emotions ranging from pure elation to heartfelt sentimentality and everything in between! Aghajanian’s unwavering commitment to building personal relationships with these talented musicians is palpable, as he eagerly anticipates the opportunity to cheer on and welcome each band member along their exciting journey to the highly anticipated Rose Parade.
Hailing from diverse corners of the world, including Costa Rica, Japan and Sweden, the bands will travel to Pasadena to participate in this iconic Parade, creating unforgettable memories as they march down Orange Grove and Colorado boulevards. In addition to some of the Parade’s long-standing participants, the 2024 Rose Parade will welcome new bands that are sure to leave their mark on Parade history. It’s no wonder community support for these talented performers is at an all-time high!

Bands are selected by the Association’s volunteer members based on a variety of criteria including, musicianship, marching ability and entertainment or special interest value.
Two bands will be added to the lineup when the universities participating in the 110th Rose Bowl Game are determined in December.
