TOURNAMENT OF ROSES FOUNDATION NOW ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS

PASADENA, Calif. (Feb. 1, 2021) – The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2021 grant program. The grants support new and ongoing programs benefiting children, teens, adults, and seniors. Since its inception in 1983, the Foundation has invested more than $3 million into the community by supporting 200+ Pasadena-area organizations. The grant awards in 2020 exceeded $140,000, which funded 16 organizations in the San Gabriel Valley.

PASADENA TOURNAMENT OF ROSES KICKS OFF BOOK DONATION TO LOCAL NON-PROFITS IN HONOR OF MLK AND NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE

PASADENA, Calif. (Jan. 18, 2021) – Today, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by participating in the National Day of Service. A handful of Tournament of Roses’ 935 volunteer members gathered at Tournament House to kick off our distribution of books to students of Pasadena.  Working with our partner Literati, the premier children’s book subscription service in the U.S., the Tournament of Roses is working to get 10,000 books into the hands of local children (ages 5-12).

PASADENA TOURNAMENT OF ROSES ANNOUNCES KERMIT THE FROG CONDUCTS SENIOR STUDENT BAND MEMBERS

PASADENA, Calif. (Dec. 21, 2020) – Today, Kermit the Frog was announced as the celebrity conductor in the “Rose Parade’s New Year Celebration presented by Honda.” Kermit will lead the virtual performance showcasing seniors in high school and college. The world’s most famous amphibian and international film and television star is no stranger to the Rose Parade®; in 1996 Kermit road down Colorado Blvd. as Grand Marshal.

Today the Pasadena Tournament of Roses® announced the nine featured segments appearing in “The Rose Parade’s New Year Celebration presented by Honda.” Each segment will spotlight award-winning float participants and sponsors, their Rose Parade legacy and their commitment to the community. Some have been Rose Parade mainstays for decades, while others are just getting started on the annual procession down Colorado Boulevard.

DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS – A CELEBRATION OF ART WINNERS

PASADENA, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2020) – Today, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses® announced winners of our first-ever Día de los Muertos art competition, a celebration of art. The competition was held in partnership with; Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles, Pasadena City Councilmember John Kennedy and the Roybal Foundation.

PASADENA TOURNAMENT OF ROSES ANNOUNCES 2-HOUR TV ENTERTAINMENT SPECIAL PRESENTED BY HONDA TO AIR ON NEW YEAR’S DAY AND BENEFIT FEEDING AMERICA®

PASADENA, Calif. (October 29, 2020) – Today the Pasadena Tournament of Roses® announced that it has partnered with six broadcasters to air a two-hour TV entertainment special on New Year’s Day. The show will air during the time slot traditionally reserved for live coverage of the Rose Parade® presented by Honda. The TV special – “The Rose Parade’s New Year Celebration presented by Honda,” will feature a reimagined New Year celebration, including live-to-tape musical and marching band performances, heartwarming segments related to the Rose Parade, celebrity guest appearances, special Rose Bowl Game® football highlights, equestrians, spectacular floats from years past, a behind-the-scenes look into the making of a float and you will have a chance to be part of the show.
