Rose Parade 2010

Rose Queen Natalie Innocenzi and the six princesses of the Royal Court wrapped up their year with the highlight of their reign a majestic ride down Colorado Boulevard. Friday, January 1 began early in the morning with hair and makeup to prep for their interviews, and later, the excitement bubbled through each of the ladies as they waved from their Royal seat aboard the Macys Queens float. A few hours later, they waved to more than 90,000 fans from the field of the Rose Bowl Stadium before the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Oregon Ducks.

The Royal Court takes to the air in the Good Year blimp

The Royal Court was treated to a ride in the famous Good Year blimp, which has been adorning the skies for over 80 years now. This one, based in the LA area, is named ‘Spirit of America’ and follows a line of California based Goodyear blimps that have appeared in dozens of movies, including the original Miracle on 34th Street!

The official tree lighting in Pasadena

The ladies of the 2010 Royal Court are presented at the Jaycees Queens breakfast. Later that week, the court helped kick off the holiday season in Pasadena. Princess Ashley Thaxton performs and Queen Natalie officiates the tree lighting!

The Royal Court visits Medieval Times

Rose and fellow bulldogs take to the slopes

Queen Natalie and the Princesses pay a visit to the practice site for the 2010 Natural Balance Snowboarding dogs.   These furry little guys, and adorable pup “Rose,” will be making their way down the slopes as the Natural Balance float travels down Colorado Boulevard.  You won’t want to miss it!!

Captain Chesley Sullenberger named 2010 Grand Marshal

Captain Chesley Sullenberger named 2010 Grand Marshal
Captain Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger, III, the heroic pilot who masterfully landed US Airways Flight 1549, will serve as the Grand Marshal for the 2010 Tournament of Roses festivities. As Grand Marshal, Sullenberger will ride in the 121st Rose Parade in front of a worldwide television audience, and toss the coin before the 96th Rose Bowl Game on January 1, 2010.

Natalie Innocenzi is named the 92nd Rose Queen for the 2010 Tournament of Roses. Queen Natalie and the six Rose Princesses were selected based upon a combination of qualities, including public speaking ability, poise, academic achievement and community involvement.
