TOURNAMENT OF ROSES® FOUNDATION NOW ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS

PASADENA, Calif. (November 1, 2013) – The Pasadena Tournament of Roses® Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2014 grant assistance program. Eligible applicants are organizations with 501(c)(3) status that are based in and serving one or more of the following communities: Alhambra, Altadena, Arcadia, La Canada, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Gabriel, San Marino, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena. Grants will be given in the categories of performing and visual arts, sports and recreation, and volunteer motivation and leadership development.
 
Since its inception in 1983, the Foundation has invested over $2.4 million in more than 150 Pasadena-area organizations. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $10,000 per organization. In 2013, grant awards totaled $100,000, and the average grant was $3,500. Twenty-eight organizations received grants last year including these seven first-time recipients: Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills, Los Angeles Wilderness Training, Pasadena Panthers, Inc., Pasadena YMCA, Red Hen Press, The Pasadena Village and Vernon Lee Amateur Gymnastics Academy.
 
To apply, eligible organizations should visit www.ctkodm.com/ptrf/. New applicants will need to enter "apply" for both the "username" and "password." Returning applicants will use their previously approved username and password. The website will then direct users to a welcome page with instructions on how to begin the application process. Applicants can find the official grant guidelines, a list of special stipulations and requirements, and a detailed list of frequently asked questions about the grants program on the Foundation’s website at www.tournamentofroses.com/foundation.
 
Applications will be accepted from November 1, 2013 until 5 p.m., January 30, 2014. Finalists will be notified the week of March 4, 2014 and then must submit additional background materials by March 17, 2014. The Foundation’s Board of Directors will make the final grant selections at its annual spring meeting, and applicants will be notified of their funding status via email in April 2014.
 
The Tournament of Roses Foundation is a non-profit, public benefit corporation established in 1983 to receive and manage charitable contributions on behalf of the Tournament of Roses Association, its supporters and the general public.
